I have been stalking everyone, just not commenting or posting here so much. Sorry, I have to keep up with your lives you know.
Ric has an appointment on February 9 with the Radiation Oncologist to schedule his next PET scan. Since they told him in September the cancer was gone, not "in remission" but gone, I am going to go into this with a hopeful heart. The effects of the treatments are still going strong. He still can't taste (thanks, chemo and radiation), he still has no salivary glands (thanks, radiation) so he still hasn't gained any weight back. I take that back, last he checked he was 128, so 3 pounds. Why is it, I can put on weight by just thinking about food and he struggles even though he eats as much as he can given the circumstances? Not fair... He still looks live a victim of starvation, and I look at pictures and wonder if he will ever get back to normal. He always used to look slightly younger than his age, now he looks 20 years older than he really is.
So, let's see, I promised some pictures of Rocks, Ropes, Ice, and a crazy friend. I know it was weeks ago, but I haven't forgotten.
Rocks and Ropes (because the two go together). We took Chick's girl scout troop to an indoor rock climbing place. They had a blast. Well, most did. My un-athletic daughter (takes after her mom) made it about half way up before deciding she wasn't sure this was a great idea. We will try again another time.
Ice and a Crazy Friend go together, too. Chick invited her friend to go with us to the hockey game. There was an autograph party and Crazy Friend (I need to think of a better name for her, because she really isn't crazy) had the guys sign her phone.
The girls with one of our favorite players... Chick made a comment about how, even though he obviously showered, the smell of rink sweat still lingers. She wanted me to smell her shirt to confirm. I don't think so. Teenager sweat ain't none to pleasant either and it was a long day...
Anyway, I am going to go pick up Ric and make dinner for the family. Lots of gravy in this house... and I wonder why I can't lose... actually, I don't even like the stuff.

Both things look like a lot of fun. So sorry about Ric's weight. Has anyone mentioned Duocal or Benecal as additives to help gain weight? I know the health food stores sell some bulk up powder stuff too, I wonder if a couple of power shakes a day would help?
