So what has my life been like the past few weeks that I haven't posted... Well, I can't think of anything that I've done that didn't involve grants. So, I guess you could say it's been pretty boring.
Chick is in a play at school so she has been going to rehearsals almost every day. The highlight of our ride home (all two minutes of it) is hearing her stories about the kids in the play. She and her friend D are the Magic Carpet. Not a speaking part, but she still gets to do some singing with everyone. I can't wait until the performances. I am even missing a hockey game for this...
She has also finished her requirements for her Silver Award and is going to start on the actual project soon. First she has to make a proposal to the church for what she wants to do, then she will need to get busy doing some fund raising to get the donations for the things she needs to complete the project. I am the adviser in our troop for the Silver Awards and she and another girl are the only two at this point of their journey. I am not particularly fond of the other girl's project, I don't think that it says helping the community loud enough, but she is putting a lot of work into it and will be beneficial to some. If this was a Gold Award project, it definitely would not qualify. Thankfully, all of Chick's projects (Bronze and Silver) have been really well thought out and have helped others in our community. Believe it or not, she already has ideas for her Gold Award....
Ric's next doctor's appointment is February 9. I am glad that it will be after the next couple of grants go out so I have a little breathing room so I can go with him. They aren't going to do much but check him out, make sure he is gaining weight (not so much), check his throat inside and out to make sure there is nothing visible and then schedule his next PET scan for March. Right now I am okay with things and am not too stressed about it. Probably because I don't have the time. But when it comes down to the PET scan I will probably be a nervous wreck.
I am off to take a pill and try to get a good nights sleep without my mind going crazy thinking of all the things that I should have done today and didn't get around to. Most nights the past couple of weeks I have only gotten about three hours of sleep because my poor mind won't shut down. I feel exhausted all the time. To top it off, everyone here has been sick and thankfully, knock on wood, Chick, Ric and I have not gotten it, which is surprising for Chick since she is around my parents a lot and my dad had the crud pretty bad. One of my co-workers was sick this week and today I was feeling not so great around lunch time. In fact, I started to eat a hamburger, got halfway through it and got really nauseated. All I could think was, please, not for another few weeks, then I can be sick and stay home. Right now, I have to go to work. I have to stay healthy. So, I am going to see what I can do about getting a good night's sleep tonight and don't tell anyone, but Saturday, I am not going to set the alarm clock....

I sure hope you get some good rest this weekend. Don't let yourself get run down.
I hope by Chick being the Magic Carpet that, that doesn't mean someone is going to be standing on her.
GET SOME REST!
I loved my kids being drama, such a fun and good thing to be doing. Congrats on her silver. Hope you survive your grant season at work and I am praying that Rics appt has nothing but good news!
